What is Payment Protection Insurance (PPI)?
If
you've taken out a mortgage, a loan for a kitchen or a car, applied for a credit card or consolidated your debts, PPI
will almost certainly have come into the equation. Of
course, PPI can be a lifesaver for some people, but government figures suggest they represent a tiny minority. The seller had a responsibility to inform
you about the insurance and its restrictionsm - for example is you were not working at the point of sale - the insurance is
USELESS to you!!
You
could be entitled to reclaim £1,000s as you may have been sold insurance which did not account for your
circumstances & is basically worthless, or you were informed it was compulsory when taking out your Loan or Credit/Store
card.
Did you trust your bank / lender to work in your best financial interests
?
BANKS HAVE SECRETLY ADMITTED THE SELLING OF LOANS IS NOT PROFITABLE UNLESS THEY CAN
'SELL' A PAYMENT PROTECTION INSURANCE POLICY AS WELL !
The Financial
Services Authority ('FSA') currently estimate 70% of all PPI policies have been mis-sold. In October 2008, the Competitions Commission announces PPI is no longer to be sold at the same time
a loan is sold.
